HOW IT ALL STARTED
Two brothers, one idea, and an old pickup truck. What began with hustling after school has grown into a business built on hard work, community, and opportunity. Today, Junk Teens runs multiple trucks, employs local youth, and keeps neighborhoods clean proving that big things can start small.

MEET COLIN
Colin joined Junk Teens back in high school, taking after-school shifts with friends just to make some extra money. But what started as a side job quickly became something more. He learned the ropes fast by mastering truck loading, team coordination, and efficient recycling.

Now, after a few years of hard work, Colin runs the show. As Operations Lead, he schedules crews, trains new hires, and makes sure every job gets done right. His journey from student to full-time manager shows what Junk Teens is all about: growth, grit, and giving young people real-world skills.

OUR STORY

THE ROOTS
Growing up, my brother and I watched our parents build their company McKinney Brothers Tree Service. A local tree service still around to this day. Everyday they showed us what it's like to work hard, build a team, and follow our dreams.
THE SPARK
When I (Kirk) turned 17, I was working at the local Needham Roche Brothers store. I road my bike one day to a dump near my house, and realized how much good stuff people were just throwing away. I began to collect speakers and other junk from the dump and bring it home.

THE HUSTLE
My bedroom started to look like a hoarders house, and my mom told me I had to take everything out and clean it up. So I started selling the equipment on Facebook marketplace, while also exploring junk removal with some workers at the dump to find more things to sell!
THE IDEA
That’s when I called my little brother to see if he wanted to start our own junk removal company together. We went in 50/50 on a truck and started doing junk removal jobs around our community.

THE FIRST HIRE
The jobs kept getting bigger and bigger, so we purchased our first dump truck and hired our first employee (a friend from high school!).
THE GRIND
From that point on, we spent our time everyday after school and our summers focused on building Junk Teens to help the community stay clean and provide opportunities to our generation to get work experience while building a great team!

THE WAREHOUSE
We even rented out a warehouse to store all of the items we collected and have a dedicated area where we could save items to donate and repurpose!
WHERE WE ARE NOW
Now, 5 years later, Junk Teens has 30 employees, 8 dump trucks, and a warehouse. All thanks to the amazing community that has supported us along the way.
